Your Recovery

Pathways to Recovery: There is more than one way to get there.

From the 12 Steps to SMART Recovery, LifeRing, and faith-based programs, recovery is a personal journey, and the right path is the one that works for you.

No single program fits everyone. Some people find lasting recovery in the structure and fellowship of the 12 Steps; others do better with the science-based tools of SMART Recovery, the secular peer support of LifeRing, or a program grounded in their faith. What matters is not which path you choose — it’s that you choose one and don’t walk it alone.

Other pathways

The 12 Steps are the best-known route, but they’re far from the only one. Each of these programs has helped many people build lasting recovery, and none of them require you to fit a mold.

  • SMART Recovery

Science-based self-management and recovery training built on CBT tools.

  • LifeRing

Secular, abstinence-based peer support centered on the sober self.

  • Moderation Management

A program for people who want to change their drinking before it becomes severe.

  • Faith-Based Recovery

Programs that ground recovery in religious faith and spiritual community.
